Centennial Farm

Sylvie and I are total suckers for a good farm, so today after nap time we checked out Centennial Farm at the O.C. Fairgrounds. At Centennial, you can't pick the produce because it's used for educational tours and donated to a food bank. At the height of strawberry season, that's a tough rule to follow, but Sylvie did her best to restrain herself...Fortunately there were lots of other things to see. In particular, since it's spring, lots of babies! Sylvie and I fell head over heels for this baby lamb whose mama rejected it. The lamb is being raised by the farm staff and has a little box with blankets for a bed. He or she was very busy eating hay but did let Sylvie and I pet its soft fur. Sylvie and I have assured baby lamb that we will be back soon to check on it.
Sylvie really enjoyed the soil display...
Fortunately, since Sylvie is definitely a taster, Centennial does provide some samples of their produce for tasting. Sylvie and I tried out the carrots and Sylvie declared them to be "mmmm." [She says this about everything she likes, i.e., "how was your bath?" "mmmmm"]
In conclusion, our review of Centennial Farms is 2 thumbs up, although we do wish it opened earlier. But it's free and fun with lots of cool animals to check out (even llamas!).
