Sylvie's Party

Sylvie's birthday party was so much fun. Several times during the party Sylvie told me, "a lot friends!" Sylvie spent the day surrounded by wonderful people that love her, all having a great time. What a fantastic day. Here are just a few pictures.

The background on Sylvie's party theme: Sylvie's favorite CD is Elizabeth Mitchell's You Are My Little Bird and one of her favorite songs is "Peace Like a River." Sylvie does the 2 finger peace sign when this song comes on, and it was one day watching her do that that I decided that 60's would be the perfect theme for Sylvie's birthday party. We made sure it included lots of her favorite things, including purple, tea party, painting and flowers.

Sylvie waits for her friends to arrive... Sylvie's cake was custom made by Daddy...
The friends used watercolors to paint coffee filters and then used clothes pins to make them into butterflies.
The food included mini veggie burgers, chicken salad croissants, apple pie empanandas, tie-dye yogurt pops and lots of assorted snacks. Check out the sidebar on right for recipes.
Cousin Amanda is a lady that loves a tea party...
Logan enjoys a yogurt pop...
After watercolors, the kids used stickers to decorate their flower pots. Giving her friends their flowerpots was the part of the party Sylvie had been most excited about. Here are cousins Shannon and Gwyn...
Our silly friend Mattie also decorated herself (check out more party pictures over on her blog)...
Friends Sarah & Aaron, Leanne & Isaac...
Sylvie's gorgeous tutu was handmade by our friend Hope. Her shirt was also handmade, by Allie Craft.
Sylvie loved this book made for her by her Grandma and Papa with pictures of mama and baby animals from their trip to Africa.
Thank you again everybody for celebrating with us!
