Halloween '09

Sylvie, Thomas and I spent a wonderful, cozy Halloween with Grandpa, Grandma, Hank, Uncle Rich, Beste, Willie, Uncle Nils, Aunt Kim and cousin Amanda. We had everybody over to the house for some soup and trick-or-treating. There are lots of kids in this neighborhood, so we were hoping for a pretty good trick-or-treating scene and we got it. This is the first time we've lived in a place where we actually got to hand out goodies to trick-or-treaters, so that was a lot of fun.

Earlier in the day, Sylvie helped Daddy scoop out pumpkin guts.
It was a hot day, so Sylvie spent the earlier hours like this...
Just in time for trick-or-treating, she put on her full ensemble, as did Pegasus Amanda and Bumble Bee Hankie.
Daddy is a master pumpkin carver and carved Sylvie this cool Elmo pumpkin.
Out on the trick-or-treating trail...
Sylvie is old enough this year to be aware of the scary parts of Halloween. There was one house with a talking skeleton and Sylvie decided no amount of candy was worth that! By the end of trick-or-treating, she was feeling a little overwhelmed by it all and got a ride home with Daddy.
But a warm bath with Amanda and some matchy-matchy pjs provided by Bestemor were just the thing to get her back in the Halloween spirit.
She ended the night playing with cousin Amanda until well past 9:00. It is so sweet how these girls are able to really play together more and more!
