Laurie Berkner Band

A few weeks ago, I saw a local commercial advertising Lori Berkner Band concerts in L.A. and Long Beach. Sylvie and I are big fans of Laurie Berkner because she makes the kind of music that kids love and that doesn't make adults' ears bleed. And in talking to some of my friends about the concert, it turned out that because our friend Sigrin's office is in the Orpheum lofts downtown, we got to go to the L.A. concert at the Orpheum Theater today for FREE!

The concert was a pajama party and everybody brought a stuffed animal for the song Laurie Berkner sings about having an animal on your head. So this morning I told Sylvie,"You get to bring a baby with you, which one do you want to bring?" and Sylvie said, "I want to bring Wesley." Sylvie's huge love for her baby friend Wes continues. I clarified that we could only bring a pretend baby, and she decided to bring her bear, Lion.
Ready for her first big concert! And at the Orpheum no less, which is such a beautiful theater. One of my favorite parts of the concert was when Sylvie recognized the first song and said, "Hey! This is on my iPod!" What a modern 2.5 year-old. [And Sylvie doesn't actually have her own iPod, but her music has basically taken over mine.]
Even Daddy got into the concert!
And our friends Dylan, Aaron and Sigrin. Dylan made sure everyone in her family brought a baby for their head, what a smart idea.
Sylvie & Dylan, running through downtown in their PJs!

Nadine, I love that Sylvie wanted to bring Wes!! She is too cute :) And he's getting so big, there's no way he'd fit on anyone's head!
