Irvine Park with Mama

Sylvie and I wanted to get out of the house and leave Thomas to his home projects yesterday. And because I am finding it much harder to find time to exercise with this pregnancy, I decided it needed to be a place that involved lots of walking. We decided on Irvine Regional Park in Orange. It had been a really long time since we'd been there. [The most recent blog posts I can find are from Halloween '08 (one and two). Has it really been THAT long?]

This park was so much fun with my big girl. I remember skipping the train the last time we were here because Sylvie was kind of scared of it. Now she is my choo-choo loving big kid who loved the train so much that she decided to stage a "sit-in" style protest when the ride was over. Fortunately the idea of eating a snack while watching the train ended the stand-off.

Sylvie rode a pony named Corky. Thomas took a look at this picture when we got home and said, "Wow. She's such a little girl."
Sylvie and I fed the ducks, visited the zoo, fed the goats and sheep, and played at the park. Sylvie thought this microphone at the park was the perfect place to take a pretend shower.
And on our way out, we found the world's most humongous leaf. All in all, a perfect day.
