Read Across America: Part II

More from Read Across America week at chez Sylvie...

Wednesday night we read Bear Snores On, which features Bear and his friends having popcorn and tea. Just like us!
Thursday night was Olivia night and definitely the highlight for Sylvie. We made pig ears for our guests (even Hank, of course), printed out these Olivia straw-toppers, and made Olivia's favorite dinner, spaghetti and meatballs and pink (strawberry) lemonade. Sylvie has informed me several times that spaghetti and meatballs is not Olivia's, but her younger brother Ian's, favorite dinner. Let's just say it's an Olivia & Family favorite.

Olivia's brother Ian eats his spaghetti by getting sauce all over his face and slurping his noodles, and Sylvie was determined to do both, just like Ian.
Success! And check out Grandma and Papa in their pig ears, ready to dig in...
Friday night we wrapped things up with a very relaxed and snuggly family story time. This week has been so much fun. We will have to remember to have some special nights to celebrate our favorite books throughout the year.
