A Month of Thanksgiving

Last year we observed Thanksgiving by hanging paper leaves on a tree with all of the things we were feeling thankful for. This year, we wrote our thoughts on strips of paper that we will turn into a paper chain to hang as part of our holiday decorations. One great thing about a yearly tradition is that is lets me see the growth in Sylvie in a year. Last year, she was thankful for things like bagels, noodles, okapis, puzzles and cheetahs. This year her thoughts are more complex and there is more meaning and depth to her gratitude. Here are a few of the things Sylvie is thankful for this year:

- for playing with my family and hugging my family.
- for having Nora at our house.
- for painting.
- that Grandma and Papa are coming for dinner.
- for talking about being thankful.
- for this family and to be having dinner together.
- for playing with Besta.
- for Yo Gabba Gabba.
- for resting with Mommy.
- for Cousin Amanda.
- for fun toys.
- for friends that share.
- for the doctor's office and that Nora is healthy.
- to have such a sweet Mommy.
- to be Sylvie.
- for Daddy because I love him.
- for Hank.
- for Nora because I love to play with her.
- for Daddy and Uncle Rich and eating popcorn.
