Green Lab

One of Lincoln Springs Farms' two produce fields is just a few blocks from our house, so the girls and I regularly go when Jessie has the farm stand open. A few weeks ago Jessie was selling chicken and duck eggs so we asked where they came from and found out that Green Lab Urban Farm is just across the alley. Such an amazing discovery and a wonderful place to have in our community. Today we walked with the stroller to the farm, which was nice. Except that Sylvie and Nora ate 2 (out of 3) baskets of strawberries and 4 tangerines just on the walk home! Oh well, that stuff never lasts long around here anyway. Despite all our fresh chicken eggs, Sylvie just had to try the duck eggs so we came home with 6 duck eggs as well.
Nora at Green Lab sounds like this: "Chickies! Hold it. Hold it. Hold it. Hold it." And repeat, until you leave. If she is not holding a chicken, she is chasing a chicken.

Chasing a chicken...

Holding a chicken!

The girls did take a break from the chickens and ducks to watch the catfish in the aquaponics tank.
Heading home...
And back on our own little farm.
