Nora at the Park

In one of my favorite parenting books, Playful Parenting by Lawrence Cohen, Dr. Cohen references a book called The Emotional Life of the Toddler by Alicia Leiberman several times. I've only skimmed Dr. Leiberman's book, but I was reminded of it today when on a 20 minute trip to the park across the street, Nora fully illustrated The Emotional Life of the Toddler.

Things started out so well.

Blue skies, birds chirping!
And then something happened. What? I don't know.
So I asked, "Nora, what happened?" Which, as it turns out, is EXACTLY the question she did not want to hear.
I mean, EXACTLY the question. Of all the questions in the world, I had to pick that one?
So then I kissed her on her cheeks. Naturally she needed to protect her face, so she fell to the grass screaming "no kisses, no kisses."
I mean HONESTLY HOW MUCH CAN ONE CHILD BE EXPECTED TO TAKE?
