The weather has been spectacular so on Sunday we made a trip to the Palos Verdes tide pools. It had been a while since our last trip to the tide pools and this is definitely one of our most favorite things to do together.
As usual, some access problem (landslide this time) prevented us from getting to our planned destination. Fortunately, there are gorgeous spots all along PV and the spot we ended up at turned out to be our favorite so far.
We saw sea urchins, anemones, crabs (both traditional and hermit) and starfish.
But the biggest hit was the 3 sea cucumbers. Sylvie and Nora passed these guys back and forth until we decided that was enough sea cucumber torture for one day and insisted they release them back into the tide pools.
Nora was particularly enthralled with the hermit crabs, once she figured out that they weren't rocks. She liked to pull them out of the water and set them onto a rock to watch the crab come out of its shell and scurry back into the water.
