A Couple of Food Notes

Note #1: I liked this interview with Seattle food writer Matthew Amster-Burton on cooking meals that both parents and toddlers will like. I definitely plan to try his recipe for Chicken and Spinach Meatballs.

Note #2: I've been busy lately looking for recipes that use up lots of our garden tomatoes. This Tomato Pesto is really good and versatile. On Tuesday we used it as a sauce over grilled chicken, and then for the Marina Park concert last night I made a pasta salad with leftover pesto and grilled chicken, plus some chopped tomatoes. Yum!

Great interview. I liked the point he made about kids not being born picky, but becoming that way. I was the same way. Aaron would eat anything so I was so shocked when he became Mr. Picky one day!!
