Natural History Museum

Last birthday post, I promise...

My birthday was on a Tuesday and since Sylvie usually spends Tuesdays doing something fun with Grandma and Papa, I asked if Nora and I could tag along somewhere fun too. We decided to go to the Natural History Museum. Sylvie, Grandma and Papa have been before, but this was my first trip.

We started out with a Peruvian lunch at delicious Mo Chica, which is in a really cool food court near the museum. Sylvie is tasting the bell pepper soup.
Then we headed to the museum and it was instantly obvious why Sylvie loves this place. Dinosaurs, bugs and snakes! This place was made for Sylvie! Here she and Papa are checking out a big boa. There was also a very cool python skeleton.
They are having a special spider exhibit at the museum through November 7th. You walk through paths and spider webs and spiders are everywhere! The more your eyes adjust, the more spiders you see. It's a really cool exhibit. Dad's hand is right behind the web of a Giant Wood Spider.
The museum has a kid's Discovery Center where Sylvie sat with Papa for story time. There was also a live animal presentation and to Sylvie's delight the animal of the day was a king snake!
I liked the museum so much that we left with a family membership. And with our membership we can also get admission to the La Brea Tar Pits. We can't wait to check those out.
