Sylvie Quotes

Since Thomas is back to work, the weather is cooling down and now it's getting dark earlier, we have settled into a routine the last few weeks of Friday night Family Movie Night. I don't even like movies much and I think this is great. What's better than winding down the week with your family snuggled on the couch with pjs and popcorn? Sylvie thinks it's fantastic and it's become one of the highlights of her week. We usually choose our movie from either the library or Redbox. Sylvie's main criteria for a movie is length. She wants to know how long the movie is to guarantee that Movie Night will last the longest and she will get to stay up the latest. So this afternoon, we were discussing our options of Curious George or Toy Story 3.

Sylvie: How many minutes is Toy Story 3?
Me: I don't know. How many minutes do you want it to be?
Sylvie: (thinks for a minute) What's the last number?

There has also been much excitement in this house as we prepare for Hanukkah and Christmas. Hanukkah starts December 1st this year, so presents are already being wrapped and the excitement is building. Last night, Sylvie and I were wrapping some of Amanda's Christmas presents and Sylvie was so excited that I had to grab a pen and paper and write down some of her rambling:

"Amanda's going to say, 'Oh my gosh!' and Aunt Kim is going to say, 'Say thank you, Amanda' because Amanda is kind of a little bald baby. Well, she's only 2. I'm taller. I can reach high things."

[I particularly like Sylvie calling Amanda a "bald baby." I'm pretty sure Amanda has had more hair than Sylvie since approximately 3 months old.]
