Don't you just love a well executed plan? We discovered Max's 3rd egg yesterday and ran to get a carton to put it in. Yes, the carton was dropped on the way to the fridge and yes, Max's egg survived. Operation Safe Passage was a success.
On the subject of egg-laying, my dad sent me this e-How article on how a hen lays an egg. Most fascinating to me is the way parts of the hen's body turn inside out so that the egg comes out totally clean. Amazing.
The side yard and chicken coop is definitely Sylvie's favorite hang-out spot right now. The best part is that when I'm not out there with her, I can watch and talk to her from the kitchen window. Here are a few pictures taken today.
