School Pictures

It's been a while since I have posted some pictures of what Sylvie is up to at school, and boy are they busy. Each month they learn some basic words in a new language and recently while cooking Sylvie counted out the tablespoons in March's language, Swahili. They have been making drums from recycled materials and learning some drum beats and some Swahili songs.

Our field trip this month was to the fantastic Cerritos Library for a tour and then picnic and play at the Heritage Park play island.  There has been a lot of woodworking at school, which Sylvie loves. She has also been doing a lot of woodworking at home with Thomas, building things for the yard (their most recent project was constructing a rock sifter).

School days have been focused on a theme of eggs and hatching and birth, and they watched the hatching of both silkworm and chicken eggs. They chicks were supposed to go back to the company that provided the eggs and incubator after a week, but all 9 of them found homes. We are excited for some of Sylvie's school friends to join us in chicken farming.
