Bubble Party

Sylvie and Nora shared a birthday part this year and we went with a bubble theme. This was decided after a bubblologist named Ryella from Bubble Mania came to Sylvie's school. We thought the bubble show was so fun and interesting that it would make a great party.

Before the bubbles, there was lunch.
Thomas and I assembled two types of grilled cheese sandwiches the night before- brie & raspberry jam and tomato, pesto & mozzarella- wrapped them in foil, and then Thomas grilled them all on the BBQ the day of the party. We also served corn salad, melon and lemonade.

After lunch it was time for the bubble show. The bubble show took place in the living room since truly amazing bubbles need protection from the elements.
For the grand finale, each child was put inside a bubble. Birthday girl Sylvie was up first.
And birthday girl Nora was next.
After each child had a chance in a bubble, Ryella set up pools of bubble solution for bubble play in the back yard.
Even the grown-ups got in on the action.
 Next up was cake time.
We also had chocolate cupcakes, because Sylvie feels strongly that all birthday parties must involve chocolate.
Nora was napping during cake time at the party, so we sang and she had cake at the dinnertime "after party." She didn't seem to mind.
Norsie adores her Papa, aka "BAPA!"
Sylvie ended the night with a bath with her good buddy Logan.
Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us, we appreciate it so much. We had such a great time all day long.
