Undies

Nora was interested in the potty really early which I assume is a baby sister thing. She was using the potty about 50% of the time a few months ago, so I figured potty training would be a breeze. Then she pretty much stopped and we were having conversations like these.

Nora: Something stinks. It's me! I pooped.
Me: Why didn't you put that in the potty?
Nora: Because. I no want to.

So about a week ago I put a big stack of diapers on the changing table and told Nora that when we get to the end of these diapers we're switching to undies and diapers will be only for bedtime. Withholding diapers is apparently my potty training "style" because I did the same thing with Sylvie.

Yesterday the diapers ran out so this morning when Nora woke up I told her "no more diapers, time for undies." She was mad as heck, but I told her she was ready. She told me "Nope! No ready!" But we went for it anyway. And Norsie had an awesome day. It included a trip to a friend's house. It included a trip to Target. It included MANY trips to the potty. It included one change of undies when we didn't quite make it in time.

A potty-related story: As Nora tells it, "Mommy's phone broke it. Fall down in Noah's** pee-pee." That is a true story of my phone falling out of my pocket and landing in Nora's pee-pee.

**Nora misses the R in her name so she calls herself Noah. At Sylvie's first soccer practice, Nora introduced herself to the coach who then said to Thomas, "Is she a boy or a girl? Because she looks like a girl but she told me her name's Noah."
