Lake Tahoe: Circus Circus & Mini-Golf

Grandma and Papa decided Sylvie needed her first Circus Circus experience so one afternoon we made the drive into Reno. This was Sylvie's favorite game. She knocked out this guy's teeth so many times. She also loved the game where you roll your ball up to make your camel race. And a few times we played it was only our family playing, which is a pretty good way to guarantee yourself a prize.
This was another fun racing game.
Sylvie ended up with a big bag of stuffed animals and used her tickets to buy herself 3 Hot Wheels. Not bad for a day's work. After all that fun, we went over to the sushi bar for all-you-can-eat sushi.
Another afternoon was spent at a nice park, followed by miniature golf.
The miniature golf course had a dino theme. It's like they knew Sylvie was coming.

Lake Tahoe: Rafting the Truckee

Sylvie spent one afternoon rafting (mostly floating) the Truckee River with Daddy, Papa and Uncle Rich (aka "the boys"). Nora was too little to raft, so Grandma and I chose a nice spot about halfway down to wait for our river rafters. When they saw us, they pulled over for a break and a swim. See Thomas' head as he floats down the river?
We just so happened to pick a spot near an ice cream man, so it was also an ice cream break.
Then it was back in the raft to finish their float.
Off they go...
Grandma, Nora and I waited for them at the restaurant at the end, and then we all went out for a good dinner of Mexican food for our hungry rafters.

Lake Tahoe: Around the House

The condo we stayed at in Incline Village was in a beautiful spot. One of the best parts was the pool where we spent almost every morning. Does this kid look ready to hit the pool or what?We played a lot of games in the evenings. Sylvie got pretty good at dominoes.
The area around our condo was great for nature walks and pine cone collecting.
It is truly amazing how much fun a 3 year-old can have with a spray bottle.

Lake Tahoe: Lake Days

We spent last week in beautiful Lake Tahoe with Grandma, Papa and Uncle Rich. I have lots and lots of pictures, so I thought I'd split them up into a few themes, starting with the two afternoons we spent hanging out on the lake.

We stayed in Incline Village on the eastern side of the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Our first beach day was spent at Burnt Cedar - a private beach that also had a big pool, kids pool and playground. But probably the very best thing Burnt Cedar had was lots of crayfish. Crayfish hunting was a very popular activity there and lots of the local kids had nets. One girl even had a homemade crayfish catcher made out of a hanger with a piece of hot dog on the end. But Sylvie just sent her Daddy and Uncle Rich out into the lake to turn over the rocks on the bottom. They brought back 8 crayfish for her, which made her a very popular kid on the beach. They had to build a "crayfish resort" out of sand and rocks, since 8 crayfish are a lot to care for.
Beautiful Lake Tahoe...
A picture of Thomas and I taken by Sylvie.
Nora loved spending shady days at the beach. [Check out Sylvie wearing the same suit.]
We spent our second beach day at Kings State Beach. Not as many crayfish, but also not as many rocks. A perfect beach to do some floating.
