Halloween '10

We had the family over for Halloween again this year, which has become one of my favorite traditions. Like last year I made Emeril's Smoked Sausage, Butternut Squash and Wild Rice Soup. It makes a nice, filling Halloween dinner while still leaving room for treats. The girls did try to eat some dinner but something tells me they had trick-or-treating on their minds.
We are all about borrowed and hand-me-down Halloween costumes around here, so I borrowed a Tarzan (or maybe Jane?) costume from our friend Brooke and Nora has on a hand-me-down horse costume from Amanda.
Sylvie the Snake and Amanda Tinkerbell.
Then we try to throw Nora Horsie in the mix...
and add in a Hankie pumpkin.
Sylvie crashing Amanda's family picture.
And our own family picture. How we ended up dressing up as a snake, mustard, Tarzan and a horse I am still not entirely sure.
 On to trick-or-treating!
Amanda was the cutest Tinkerbell ever. She loved trick-or-treating and thought every star in the sky was a Tinkerbell. "5 Tinkerbells!"

Sylvie and Amanda ended the night with a bath and some books and games with Besta.
