Pre-Halloween Festivities

Before we get to the Halloween photos, let me get caught up on the pre-Halloween...

Sylvie has been telling me since August that she must be a green snake for Halloween. Since I have no sewing skills and green snake costumes are not too easy to come by, I once again begged Wesley's mom Denise for help. You will recall that Denise already came to my rescue once before by sewing Sylvie's 2008 eyeball costume.

And yet again she came through for us with a fabulous green snake costume! Sylvie was so thrilled. It was everything she hoped for in a green snake Halloween costume!

Because the green snake costume involved an actual stuffed green snake wrapping around Sylvie (amazing, right?) and we have been having hot days lately, we decided for our MOMS Club Halloween party in the park on Friday to pull out the eyeball costume to try to stay cool. With a little slit in the arm holes, it was still perfect!

[Check out Sylvie wearing her eyeball in 2008 at the pumpkin patch and trick-or-treating.]

On Sunday morning, we got to pumpkin carving. Sylvie did some decorating with markers and stamps...
 and handled the gutting.
And Thomas showed off his amazing pumpkin carving skills as usual.

Remember the cool pumpkin he carved last year?
